About Mrs. Chavez and her Class Expectations
"It's not about winning or losing, it's about how you play the game."

About Mrs. Chavez:
Welcome to my classroom website! My name is Mrs. Chavez and I am beyond excited for the opportunity to teach Physical Education and Health to your 7th grade student. This is my fourth year teaching at JJMS but have had many other job roles such as ASP tutor and Daytime Paraprofessional here at JJMS. I graduated from California State University, Northridge in 2017 with my B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Studies. I enjoy being active by playing sports, going on hikes, working out at the gym. I look forward to motivating your student to become their best selves physically, mentally, socially, and academically.

PE/Health Program:
In JJMS's Physical Education/Health program, students will have the opportunity to engage in curriculum based on the California State Standards. Students will develop their movement skills, concepts, and strategies to enable their participation in a variety of physical activities for fitness including: individual sports, dual sports, team sports, and cooperatives. For the health education component of this class, students will learn about the proper nutrition needed to help their body function in a healthy way. Furthermore, they will explore a variety of health topics in order to better understand how to improve their overall mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Students will be assessed in the psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains of learning as they apply to physical activity, health, and life-long fitness.

Tutoring/Make up work:
